Earl Junior Mayne 90 of Rowlesburg died Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home with family by his side.
He was born February 2, 1930, in Preston County, a son of the late Ervie S. and Pearl Owens Mayne.
Earl was a trackman and machine operator for the B & O Railroad, served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and loved to hunt, fish and tend to his farm. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and was a Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Monalee Harris Mayne; five sons, Charles, Robert, William and Paul Mayne, all of Rowlesburg and Earl Harris of Baltimore, MD; three daughters, Lonna Duffitt and Louella Poling, both of Rowlesburg and Kathy Strawderman of Tunnelton; two brothers, Ervie Mayne of Grafton and Hugh Mayne of Terra Alta; a sister, Leatta Lewis of Roanoke, VA; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Terri Marie Mayne.
Friends may call at the Burke Funeral Home in Rowlesburg on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 2-4 pm the funeral hour with Pastor Kevin Keplinger officiating. Interment in the WV National Cemetery will be at be at a later date.
Social distancing and masks are required during the visitation and funeral.
