Gary Paul Arbogast, Sr., 70, of Rowlesburg died Sunday, May 10, 2020 at J W Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side.
He was born August 10, 1949, in Thomas, a son of the late Olie Leo and Georgia Edith Burns Arbogast.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a truck driver for Savage, and Sanders Sawmill, loved hunting and fishing. He was Southern Baptist by faith and a member of the Brothers of the Wheel, Mountain Chapter.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruby Nelson Arbogast, four sons, Gary Arbogast, Jr. of Elkins; Olie Arbogast and Chris Arbogast, both of Rowlesburg and Joseph Arbogast of Terra Alta; his daughter, Tracy Freeland of Morgantown; four brothers, Leo Arbogast of Rowlesburg, George Arbogast,of Etam, Charles Arbogast of Falling Waters and Clinton Godwin of Baltimore, MD; his sister, Sue Sheppard of Elkins; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Arbogast.
Family will receive friends at the Burke Funeral Home in Rowlesburg on Friday, May 15 from 6-8 pm with proper distancing and face mask required. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday May 16, 2020 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas with Pastor Barry Adkins officiating. Family and friends will gather at the Burke Funeral Home at 12 noon to go in procession to the cemetery.
A celebration of life for Gary will be held at later date when family and friends can gather safely.
