Robert Allen Ayersman, Sr. 86, of Rowlesburg died Tuesday November 26, 2019 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.
Robert was born January 27, 1933 in Rowlesburg, WV. He was retired from the United States Air Force where he served for 25 years. Following retirement, Robert worked for Sanders Bros Sawmill as well as owning BnA Country Quick Mart along Rt. 50 in Rowlesburg alongside his late wife Joycelyn Ayersman. He was an integral part of the community and was an active member of the Rowlesburg Historical society serving as the President from June 2006 to October 2019. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing; and always spent his mornings drinking coffee with his family.
Robert is survived by two sons Robert A Ayersman II and William Ayersman and wife Barbara, all of Rowlesburg; five grandchildren, Robert A Ayersman III and wife Brooklyn, Michael R. Ayersman, William Ayersman II and wife Ashley, Jessica Kay Ayersman, as well as Melissa Ayersman Drake and husband Chad of Yuma, AZ; four great-grandchildren, Courtney, Kaylee, Brice, and TJ; and 7 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joycelyn and sister Delores Curry.
Those who wish to gather in memory of Robert are welcome to attend the graveside Military Honors Service Saturday December 7, 2019 at 10am at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
