Roger Thomas Taylor, 74, of Rowlesburg, died Saturday, November 20, 2021 at J W Ruby Hospital with loving family by his side.
He was born March 9, 1947, in Rodamer, WV the son of the late John E. and Isabelle Calhoun Taylor.
Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He graduated with the Class of 1965, from Rowlesburg High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps and guarded the American Embassy in Vietnam and the Philippines, He was a Government Specialist for the Treasury Department for the State of WV., worked for Kleen Coal in Kingwood and was part owner of the Cheat River Wood Products. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Rowlesburg Masonic Lodge #165, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and a life time member of Cannon Hill Post #3008.
Roger is survived by his wife, Debra Helms Taylor, his daughter, Shiela Land of Independence; his son, R. T. Taylor and wife, Amy of Coon Rapids, MN; two brothers, John Taylor and wife, Sherrie and Larry Taylor and wife, Penny; two sisters, Barbara Buckingham and husband, David and Nancy Cramer; five grandchildren, Joshua Land , Riley Land, Peyton Taylor, Lucas Taylor and Brady Taylor.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Taylor.

Family will receive friends at Burke Funeral Home in Rowlesburg, on Tuesday, November 23 from 4-7 pm, and on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 11- 1 pm the funeral hour with Pastor Marshall Woods officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home.
